Yuvraj Singh bagged by Mumbai Indians at base price of Rs 1 crore in 2nd round of IPL 2019 auctions

Indian veteran Yuvraj Singh was sold to Mumbai Indians at his base price of Rs 1 crore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 Player auction. After remaining unsold in the first round of the auctions, Yuvraj was picked by the Rohit-Sharma led side in what came as a huge sigh of relief for the Indian superstar. This will be Yuvraj's fifth franchise in the IPL as he has previously represented Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals (Formerly Daredevils) and Pune Warriors in the competition.
Yuvraj plied his trade for Kings XI Punjab last season but was released by the franchise after an ordinary season as he failed to deliver in the middle order. KXIP had a brilliant start to their campaign but stutter towards the end majorly because of their middle order woes. The franchise finished seventh in the league last season with 12 points from seven matches.
In a dismal season for him, the Indian stalwart struggled with the bat as he could only score 65 runs in 8 matches at an abysmal average of 10.83 with the highest score of 20 runs. As Yuvraj's name was called in the first round of auction, no teams showed interest in the all-rounder as a dread silence fell in the auction room.
However, in the second round of the auctions, Yuvraj found a bidder in Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma and co will be delighted to have the services of the veteran left-hander, who brings invaluable experience to the already star-studded squad of the three-time IPL champions. Yuvraj will be looking forward to working with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Lasith Malinga and head coach Mahela Jayawardene in the Mumbai dug-out.
